IMO Celebrates 10 year milestone

Palm Desert, California ~ The International Mango Organization (IMO) passed another milestone...ten years of serving the global mango community.

The organization has held three Global Mango conferences around the world in the past decade. The first, in October, 2000,  was held in La Quinta, California. Growers from as far away as India, Brazil, Spain, South Africa among other countries attended. The major importers from the United States and Europe were present as well.

Executive Director Will Cavan traveled to South Africa in December of 2000 in an outreach to major associations around the world.

In 2003, The IMO held its second conference in Malaga, Spain that catered to the European market. Local groves and packing operations were visited as well.

In 2004 in a cooperative venture with Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens of Miami Florida held a joint conference as part of the annual mango exposition held in Miami, Florida.
