HEART OF MEXICO'S LARGEST MANGO EXPORTING STATE...HOME TO ONE OF MEXICO'S QUIRKIEST DRUG CARTELS..."THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR...

'The Knights Templar': Mexico's newest drug cartel

By Monica Villamizar in
Americas on Fri, 07/22/2011 - 04:45.

Pictures of the latest objects seized by the police in the Mexican state of Michoacan, revealed that the mysterious 'Knights Templar" drug cartel is more bizarre than most people imagine.

There were four hooded tunics, with a red cross, a metal helmet, and a pamphlet or Templar rule book.

This drug cartel claims to draw inspiration from the medieval Christian warriors who fought to protect Jerusalem and the Holy Grail.

No one knows if its founder, Servando Gomez, a school teacher, was a history entuthiast or simply read the Da Vinci Code.

The rules in the modern day 'templar bible' call for observance of 'gentleman' like behaviour and respect for women – but also state that any disclosure of knights templar activities will result in the death of the person and his whole family, and confiscation by the cartel of the snitch’s property.

Move One Logistics Completes Pakistan Development Freight Lift for US Government
Massive Aid Project Success

USA / PAKISTAN - Move One Logistics  has completed the latest in a series of high-value logistics projects that are part of a program of cooperation between the US and Pakistani Governments designed to develop Pakistan’s energy, agriculture, education and health sectors to help meet the country’s immediate and long-term development goals.

Move One has played a key role in these projects addressing some of Pakistan’s most critical development needs, and has been transporting equipment and supplies via the US Embassy in Islamabad.

The scale of the project was so enormous that, in the first week of August 2010, exploratory dry-run simulations had to be conducted before freight shipments could begin.

The evaluation process required a 40-foot flatbed truck and a 50-ton crane, purely to investigate the equipment and specialized transports that would be needed for the p…

HOW MANY OF THESE FOOD TRENDS PREDICTIONS AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR...HAVE ACTUALLY MADE IT???

Chefs Identify the Hot Food Trends for 2011

by JANET on DECEMBER 3, 2010

[Photo: Lunch at Canoe in Toronto by jhritzon flickr.com]

The trends keep coming. It is that time of year, after all.

My latest restaurant and dining trend story summarized the predictions from several sources.

This time the 2011 trends are from a survey of 1,500+ chefs conducted by the National Restaurant Association.

The survey was recently covered by Bret Thorn in Nation’s Restaurant News.

It’s interesting to see the similarities and the differences between all of these predictions.

For example, this new NRA survey predicts big things for organic produce, yet Independent Restaurateur thinks organic will decline on restaurant menus in the coming year.

It’s great that several trend trackers predict children’s nutrition and improved kids’ menus will be top priorities in 2011

Other consistent predictions: locally sourced ingredients, farm/estate branded ingredients, smaller portions, food trucks, ethnic-inspired and a…

With a ground swell of consumer consciousness, USA consumers are finally getting to eat fresh mangoes and they are LOVING IT!!!

Of course, non of this LOVE is due in any part to the National Mango Board (NMB).

Oh to hear the NMB tell the story, you would think that the opposite was true...

But the proof is in the pudding...or eating...and that is what USA consumers get to do every July and into August...thanks to wonderful mango festivals that sprout up all over Florida...and Northern Sinaloa State exports from the Los Mochis area and finally, Southern California grown mangoes from the Coachella valley.

The last two are a secret that the NMB would rather you NOT ever learn about.

The NMB is the grand promoter of those non nutritonally complete mangoes that either wither on your kitchen sink and never ripen or are just plain tasteless...the USA consumer is getting tired of paying top dollar fo…

AGEXCO'S EMPLOYEES FORCE THE HAND OF THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT AND TRUSTEE BY BARRICADING THEMSELVES IN COMPANY HEADQUARTERS...

Israel: Agrexco workers barricade selves inside Tel Aviv office

300 workers barricade themselves in protest against decision that 200 workers must go on unpaid leave or be fired; head of Agrexco Union says decision would be heard in court today, protests to continue.

About 300 Agrexco employees barricaded themselves inside the company's Tel Aviv office on Hahashmonaim Street yesterday while others protested outside.

The workers were protesting against the government, the Finance Ministry, and the company's court-appointed trustee manager, Shlomo Nass, who had said 200 workers had to go on unpaid leave or be fired.

Shaul Tzivoni, head of the Agrexco union, said that Nass' decision would be heard in court today - and that the workers would be protesting again.

If the workers are fired, said Tzivoni, they won't receive the severance compensation they're owed under their collective bargaining agreement, due to the company's shaky financial situation.

The contract…
