MANGO WINE FROM FLORIDA THIS CHRISTMAS ...

Wines and beers with South Florida ties make great gifts By Fred Tasker

 Schnebly Wines

What could be more local than a bottle of mango wine made in South Miami-Dade’s Redland farming country?

Seven years ago, big-time fruit packer Peter Schnebly and his wife, Denisse, saw the area’s mangoes and avocados being underpriced by imports from Mexico, so they built a tropical fruit winery to create new demand for the stuff.

Nelna focuses on mango production as a delectable health food
New trends in agriculture

EMBILIPITIYA - Driven by a passion to produce good healthy food, a Sri Lankan company is moving in a big way to create large plantations of luscious and juicy mangoes. For a very good reason too! Nelna, reputed for its chicken with Nelna Farm (Pvt) Ltd -part of the Nelna Group, has ventured into agriculture and heavily promotes mango growing.

Nelna Mango is a specialty in itself, which was developed in their labs – a combination of Kartha Colomban, Vilard and Indian Alponso genes.
