Ive Lambert of Starfruit expects prices to increase quickly
EU: "Far less mangoes on the market than last year"

The market for mangoes is quiet according to Ive Lambert of Starfruit, The Netherlands. "At the moment demand and prices are at a rather low level. SPOTLIGHT’S ON!

New Tropical President Sees Bright Future Ahead

Early last year, Mike Pellicci took over the helm at Tropical Shipping, as only the fourth president in the history of the 48-year-old shipping company.

Mr. Pellicci began his career at Tropical in March 2006 as the Chief Financial Officer. In 2008, he was also charged with heading Tropical’s highly successful acquisition program. This strategic program has enabled Tropical to continue offering superior levels of service to a larger customer base in the midst of a difficult economic environment.

Prior to Tropical, Mr. Pellicci was Senior Vice President—Finance & Planning, Treasurer and Chief Accounting Officer at Seabulk International, which was a publicly traded marine transportation company until Seacor acquired it.

An avid reader and sometime golfer, Mike most enjoys spending time with his wife Suzanne and sons, Michael, 8, and Alexander, 5.

“I’m excited about this opportunity and very optimistic about the future,” he sa…
