CAPTIVE AUDIENCE: USING AIRPORTS TO PROMOTE MANGOES ...

AIRPORTS TRADE LAYOVER HORROR FOR 'TERMINAL BLISS'

Getting stranded at an airport once meant camping on the floor and enduring hours of boredom in a kind of travel purgatory with nothing to eat but fast food. Tough economic times are helping drive airports to make amends and transform terminals with a bit of bliss: spas, yoga studios, luxury shopping and restaurant menus crafted by celebrity chefs. ECUADOR ON TRACK TO MATCH 2006 SEASON (DISASTER) ....

Keep in mind that Ecuador is running two weeks late this year, which means that exporters still have volume to ship from Ecuador.

So far the country has admitted to shipping over 10,000,000 (4kg) cartons last season and will ship more this year.

http://mangoworldmagazine.blogspot.com/2012/12/ecuador-incrementa-exportaciones-de.html

The country learned a brutal lesson back in 2006 when they shipped 11 plus million cartons to the USA market and got their head handed back to them.

Both Brazil and Ecuador learned that by cutting back volume, the could manage a very lucrative return.

LA GRAVEDAD DEL SALUD DE CHAVEZ ...

Posted: 23 Dec 2012 12:55 PM PST

IF USA WAS SERIOUS ABOUT FIXING ECONOMIC MESS ...

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling ...

"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that any time there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election."

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months and 8 days to be ratified! Why?

Simple! The people demanded it.

That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc.

Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure. Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message.

This is one idea that really should be passed around.

LESS THAN 4% OF THE WORLD'S COUNTRIES ARE DEBT FREE ...

Debt Free Zone: How Liechtenstein Manages to Live Within Its Means

As you may have heard, the United States’ gigantic national debt means we’re firmly in our creditors’ pockets.

But what about countries on the opposite end of the spectrum?

Who’s got the tiniest national debt?

In that arena, it’s tough to beat Liechtenstein. The tiny European principality has a whopping external debt of zero dollars.

That’s right; Liechtenstein doesn’t owe anyone cash. Its national credit card is carrying a zero balance.

Liechtenstein’s not alone.

The CIA’s World Factbook also lists Brunei, Macau, and Palau as having no external debts.

How do Liechtenstein and its fellow countries pull off this trick? And can the U.S. swipe any of their secrets?

As far as the second question goes, probably not. Liechtenstein has a lot of factors working in its favor when it comes to keeping its debt low. First, it’s extremely small. The entire country only fills 62 square miles of mountainous terrain between Switzerland a…

By Mindanews on December 23 2012 8:46 am

KORONADAL CITY (MindaNews/22 December)—North Cotabato is Southwestern Mindanao or SOCCSKSARGEN Region’s top mango producer, Department of Agriculture (DA) officials said.

Ellen Lantican, a staff of the regional DA’s High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), said that North Cotabato has 451,250 fruit-bearing mango trees followed by Sarangani with 197,285, South Cotabato with 189,000 and Sultan Kudarat with 82,000.

Citing data from the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (BAS), North Cotabato produced last year 28,528 metric tons (MT) of mango, she said.

Although Sarangani was second in terms of fruit-bearing trees, its production was ranked third at 4,917 MT, next to South Cotabato’s 16,620 MT. Sultan Kudarat’s production volume reached only 2,269 MT, BAS data showed.

Amalia Jayag-Datukan, DA-12 executive director, said that SOCCSKSARGEN Region ranked sixth nationwide in mango production in 2011, with a total production of 52, 334 MT.

At this volume…
