PAKISTAN : MANGO ORCHARD MANAGEMENT OF OLDER TREES ..

A very strange physiological phenomenon "Florigen concept" in mangoes...........especially in Pakistan........large size trees, older in age, pests & diseases, no pruning so no vegetative synchronization, no zero till, intercropping, improper & out of ballance fertilization, no control over irrigation, etc......a complete absence of mango tree management system........."first bud burst to final bud burst" let's say 20th Nov & first week of March........and mixed panicles..........what about fruit setting, fruit growth & development, local climatic conditions, nutrition & irrigation etc?.........harvest maturity & final harvesting.................it is very difficult to obtain good quality from such management systems.

11th Janurary 2013............the buds on these terminals burst open...............and today it is 15th January 2013....

17th December 2012............the buds on these terminals burst open...............and today it is 15th January 2013....

5th December 2012............the buds on these terminals burst open...............and today it is 15th January 2013......

26th November 2012............the buds on these terminals burst open...............and today it is 15th January 2013.................

Mango Terminals like these may need foliar application of KNO3 "potassium nitrate" 1-2%............to break dormancy............

I am sure those who understand mangoes may appreciate this image...........Fungicide & an insecticide were applied  at this stage.............before it.....KNO3 through soil application followed by light irrigation......Boron & Zinc through Foliar sprays...........
