The Federal Trade Commission Act mandates that all advertisers meet specific requirements in all advertisements.

Additional regulations apply specifically to advertisements for certain products and services nationwide and each state also has laws for advertisements aimed at residents.

Business owners need to become familiar with all advertising laws that apply in order to comply and eliminate problems as stiff penalties can result from the noncompliance.

All advertisements must be truthful, fair and free of misleading representation. Federal truth-in-advertising laws also require that claims be substantiated with solid proof.

The National Mango Board (NMB) is playing with fire.

Are they going back to the well as they did in last seasons Daniella mango recall and counting on consumer "ignorance" to pull them through???...

In each of the studies listed below, not a single HWT  (Hot Water Treated) Mango (Subjected to boiling water of at least 117 degrees F for 60-90 minutes) was used .

Study A

was conducted with Dried mangoes thus avoiding the Hot Water Treatment process.

Study B
used Keitt mangoes which are more than likely from Coachella Valley, California or Northern Sinaloa State in Mexico. (Both are Fruit Fly Free (3F) zones and not subject to HWT)

The NMB is skirting with deceptive advertising practice and could be subject to a class action lawsuit.

American Filmmaker Detained In Venezuela Moved To Dangerous Prison

Fox News Latino

Caracas, Venezuela – An opposition human rights group said Friday that Venezuelan authorities have moved a U.S. filmmaker jailed on espionage charges to a notoriously unruly prison where more than 20 inmates were killed in a 2011 riot.

Timothy Tracy, a 35-year-old Hollywood producer and actor, was moved Wednesday from the SEBIN secret police lockup in Caracas to El Rodeo prison, said Patricia Andrade, director of the Miami-based Venezuela Awareness Foundation.

Andrade cited as her sources relatives of other prisoners who were similarly transferred and who she said she cannot name for security reasons. She said they were moved out of the lockup because a bacterial illness had spread through SEBIN lockup.

Tracy had been making a documentary about Venezuelan politics for about six months, family and friends say, when he was arrested on April 24 at Caracas' airport as he tried to leave the country to attend his father's 80th birthday in…

Mirpurkhas mango mania is back!

By Zulfiqar Kunbhar

Three things you cannot ignore about mango, especially when season is on - taste, variety and mango-talk.

Mirpurkhas mango is no exceptional case.

So get ready for sweet and tart flesh of the mango as Mirpurkhas is all set to host 48th Mango Festival.

The three-day mango exhibition will open on Tuesday (today) and will go on till June 6 (Thursday).

As the portfolio of Agriculture Ministry is still undecided, it appears quite unlikely for the top brass of Sindh government to be present on the eve of country’s top mango festival.

“The victorious Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah is expected to be in Islamabad during the festival days. So government’s negligence towards highly valuable fruit may continue,” said one of the festival participants.

As you enter the Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto Mango exhibition hall, where the festival will be held, you will notice a name plate of the Pakistan People’s Party’s slain leader.

How to Really Eat Like a Hunter-Gatherer: Why the Paleo Diet Is Half-Baked [Interactive & Infographic]

We are not biologically identical to our Paleolithic predecessors, nor do we have access to the foods they ate. And deducing dietary guidelines from modern foraging societies is difficult because they vary so much by geography, season and opportunity

Meet Grok

According to his online profile, he is a tall, lean, ripped and agile 30-year-old.

By every measure, Grok is in superb health: low blood pressure; no inflammation; ideal levels of insulin, glucose, cholesteroland triglycerides. He and his family eat really healthy, too. They gather wild seeds, grasses, and nuts; seasonal vegetables; roots and berries. They hunt and fish their own meat. Between foraging, building sturdy shelters from natural materials, collecting firewood and fending off dangerous predators far larger than himself, Grok's life is strenuous, perilous and physically demanding.

Yet, somehow, he is a stress-free dude who always manages to get enough sleep and finds the time t…
