The Mexican mango grower-shipper whose fruit was linked to 127 cases of salmonella in the U.S. in 2012 says the Food and Drug Administration has released it from an import alert, allowing the company to ship to the U.S.

Agricola Daniella, whose Daniella brand fruit was removed from dozens of retailers' shelves in the wake of the outbreak, completed food safety programs and audits that removed the import alert. The alert effectively bans companies from exporting to the U.S.

“We are very proud of the process we concluded, because it will reactivate the dynamics of our production and will allow hundreds of people to go back to their jobs, in both sides of the border,” said Agricola Daniella director Daniel Juan Pablo Ibarra, in a news release.

The Los Mochis-based company is in a northern Mexico growing region that's exempt from hot-water treatment protocals for pests because the U.S. has deemed it a "pest-free" zone.

USA EAST COAST NEEDS TO KEEP AN "EYE" ON THIS STORM ...

7/7/2013 - 11 am ET/10 am CT: I am closely monitoring and writing frequent updates for our Crown Weather Plus subscribers on Invest 95L in the eastern Atlantic.

For non-subscribers, here is a summary of what I expect with 95L next few days.

The islands of Barbados, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia and St. Vincent may experience tropical storm conditions beginning just after midnightMonday night and continue through a good part of Tuesday. These tropical storm conditions would include wind gusts of 50+ mph, squalls of heavy rain and very rough seas.

After that, a trough of low pressure over the southeastern United States may pull this system northward to near south Florida by late this week.

So, any tropical storm that does form could target an area from the eastern Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Peninsula to coastal areas of Georgia, South Carolina or North Carolina next weekend.

Obviously, this is a system that bears close watching from the eastern Caribbean to the southeas…

The NSA can track real-time events such as email logins or the sending of email, and the logging in or out of a user to a chat service according to the Washington Post.

New PRISM slides shed further light on the program, a facet of the wider NSA surveillance programs that have in essence, along with cohort efforts by other nations, ended digital privacy. Contained in the new information is the inference that someone is lying: new allegations of government hardware on-premises at technology companies surface, placing earlier denials by firms that you know and use into doubt.

The slide and added explanation of the surveillance program’s data collection practice follows:

You cannot equivocate with the phrase “on the premises of private companies,” and the passage of information thereof to “one or more ‘customers’ at the NSA, CIA, or FBI.…

In Secret, Court Vastly Broadens Powers of N.S.A.

By ERIC LICHTBLAU

Published: July 6, 2013

WASHINGTON — In more than a dozen classified rulings, the nation’s surveillance court has created a secret body of law giving the National Security Agency the power to amass vast collections of data on Americans while pursuing not only terrorism suspects, but also people possibly involved in nuclear proliferation, espionage and cyberattacks, officials say.

The rulings, some nearly 100 pages long, reveal that the court has taken on a much more expansive role by regularly assessing broad constitutional questions and establishing important judicial precedents, with almost no public scrutiny, according to current and former officials familiar with the court’s classified decisions.

The 11-member Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, known as the FISA court, was once mostly focused on approving case-by-case wiretapping orders.

But since major changes in legislation and greater judicial oversight of in…

COCAINE KING & HIS FAKE VENEZUELAN IDENTITY ...

What's the story about Roberto Pannunzi's Venezuelan ID?

Roberto Pannunzi (photo AP)

Colombia's Ministry of Defence informed today that Roberto Pannunzi, a boss linked to Calabria's 'Ndrangheta mafiosi was captured in Bogotá, in a joint operation between Colombia's Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Colombia's Ministry of Defence states in its report that Pannunzi identified himself with a fake Venezuelan ID -on the name of Silvano Martino- when arrested in a shopping mall in the north of Bogotá.

However, Venezuelan Twitter user @InformadorVeraz, reported that Silvano Martino's Venezuelan ID (22.183.207) appears in the National Electoral roll (Registro Electoral).

So the question, to Colombia's Ministry of Defence is: how can it be argued that Pannunzi's Venezuelan ID was fake, when it appears as registered in Venezuela's electoral roll?

@InformadorVeraz weighs in, asking whether Colombia's Ministry of Defence is claiming that p…
