Developers of The Skyscraper – the world’s tallest roller coaster and the anchor attraction for the $250 million Skyplex indoor entertainment complex – revealed today the track design for the mega-thrill ride, set to open in 2017 at International Drive and Sand Lake Road in Orlando, Florida.

David and Joshua Wallack, father-son owners of Mango’s Tropical Café South Beach, Mango’s Tropical Café Orlando and Skyplex unveiled the full ride experience animation of the Skyscraper today at IAPPA’s (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) Attractions Expo held in Orlando.

IAPPA attendees may learn more about The Skyscraper at Skyplex and Mango’s Tropical Café in booth #2217 at the attractions expo going on now through November 21.

Skyscraper, the world’s first Polercoaster, and soon to be the tallest structure in Central Florida, will join The Orlando Eye observation wheel as focal points of the I-Drive skyline. Skyscraper will not only be an incredible feat of architecture, but also a first-of-its-kind thrill ride.

“The unique design of the coaster means more incredible, heart-pounding inside and outside loops, dives, spirals and inversions in a vertical area than riders have ever before experienced,” said Bill Kitchen, founder of Orlando-based US Thrill Rides and creator of the Polercoaster.

“Skyscraper will not only take riders higher than ever before, but also introduce one thrill right after the next – there’s no ‘down time’ on this four minute coaster experience,” said Michael Kitchen, president of US Thrill Rides.

“It is an absolute cutting-edge engineering marvel that will deliver pure adrenaline unlike any roller coaster in the world today.”

The track design of Skyscraper is totally unique to Orlando and was created specifically to begin and end inside Skyplex.

The $250 million entertainment complex comprises approximately 495,000 –s.f. located on 12 prime acres in the attractions corridor.

Skyplex will feature the area’s largest indoor theme park complete with an upscale arcading, simulators, rock climbing, bars, and a host of rides and games, as well as additional opportunities for attractions, interactive venues, restaurants and retail.

“We are very proud to be a part of the incredible landscape in a town where magic happens and lifetime memories are made every day of the year,” said Joshua Wallack, managing principal of Skyplex and COO of Mango’s Tropical Café.

“With the addition of The Skyscraper and the amazing Skyplex, Orlando will once again cement its reputation as the attractions capital of the world and the number one vacation/convention destination. We’re certain this thrilling new iconic coaster and facility will attract countless more attraction enthusiasts and visitors to the area.”

Skyscraper’s observation deck will offer views 535-ft from the ground and will be accessible by the region’s tallest glass elevators.

The Skyscraper at Skyplex will be built not far from the soon-to-open Orlando Eye, dramatically changing the Orlando skyline and entertainment lineup.

Skyplex will break ground in 2015 and is expected to open in 2017.

“The Skyscraper is just part of the excitement that guests will be able to experience at Skyplex,” said David Wallack, founder of Mango’s Tropical Café.

“From the thrill of riding the world’s tallest coaster, to the breathtaking views from the observation deck, to the excitement of the indoor games and attractions, as well as a variety of upscale shopping, dining and nightlife, Skyplex will be a destination unto itself.”

Skyplex was designed by global architectural firm HHCP, based in Orlando, and will be constructed by Euforria, a construction management division of Winter Park Construction, based in Winter Park, Florida.

Mango’s Tropical Café Orlando and its adjacent parking garage will open in summer 2015 across from Skyplex on International Drive.

With nightly family-friendly dinner shows including a Michael Jackson tribute artist as well as Mango’s dancers performing Brazilian Samba and Cuban Conga to the music of a live Latin band, an evening at Mango’s becomes an event to remember for guests of all ages.

Mango’s nightlife heats up after 10 p.m. with live DJs, dancing, adults-only shows and some of Florida’s largest dance floors.

THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER MANGOES IN THE WORLD ....

While "Flavor" is very subjective, and each country that grows mangoes is very nationalistic, these are the mango varieties that are the most sought after around the world because of sweetnesss (Brix) and demand.

The Chaunsa has a Brix rating in the 22 degree level which is unheard of!
Carabao claims to be the sweetest mango in the world and was able to register this in the Guiness book of world records.
Perhaps it is time for a GLOBAL taste test ???

INDIA 2016 : Mango production in state likely to take a hit this year

TNN | May 22, 2016, 12.32 PM IST

Mangaluru: Vagaries of nature is expected to take a toll on the production of King of Fruits - Mango - in Karnataka this year. A combination of failure of pre-monsoon showers at the flowering and growth stage and spike in temperature in mango growing belt of the state is expected to limit the total production of mango to an estimated 12 lakh tonnes in the current season as against 14 lakh tonnes in the last calendar year.

However, the good news for fruit lovers is that this could see price of mangoes across varieties decrease marginally by 2-3%. This is mainly on account of 'import' of the fruit from other mango-growing states in India, said M Kamalakshi Rajanna, chairperson, Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation Ltd.

Karnataka is the third largest mango-growing state in India after Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
