Twenty years ago, the prospect of irradiated fruit and vegetables from Australia going on sale here would have attracted strong opposition. 



At that time, opponents contended that irradiation would affect the appearance of food and deplete its vitamin content. So deep-seated was the concern that a public outcry stopped plans to build irradiation plants at Tokoroa and Mangakino.







Now, things are very different. Any qualms about the looming import of 11 types of fruit and vegetables from Queensland must focus on consumers being made fully aware that they have been bombarded with gamma rays.





The process was, in fact, declared safe by our regulator of food standards, a joint authority for New Zealand and Australia, more than a decade ago.

Oct 22 2014 In the olden days, like in 2006 (before Apple introduced the iPhone), the apps that employees used for work were the apps their companies gave them. No longer. Today employees and IT departments work together to choose apps. Sometimes employees simply buy the apps and load them onto their own PCs, tablets, and smartphones themselves. The apps that employees bring in has been dubbed “shadow IT” and a company called Skyhigh Networks helps IT departments discover these apps to make sure they are licensed properly and are secure. Skyhigh tracks cloud usage data from over 13 million enterprise employees and 350 companies. It recently dug through its enormous database to see which apps employees use most. IMO & IPO : TWO ORGANIZATIONS, A POWERFUL COMBINATION

The International Mango Organization (IMO) was founded in August 2000 and held it's first Global Mango Conference (GMC) in La Quinta, California in October of that year.


In the summer of 2003, The IMO was recognized by The Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and the second GMC was held in Velez-Malaga in October.


A Global State of the Mango Economy was Published by IMO Executive Director Will Cavan and later distributed by FAO at the FAO/UN SubTropical Conference held in Tenerife, Canary Islands in December of 2003.



In 2004, Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens of Miami, Florida C0-Hosted The third IMO Global Mango Conference in Conjunction with the World Famous International Mango Festival.


After a 10 year Hiatus, The International Mango Organization (IMO) will be hosting a series of IMO Global Mango Conferences:
