A chance to see the future
Delegates attending TOC Europe in Rotterdam have the opportunity to tour a leading edge “fully automated” container terminal.
AMP Terminals new Maasvlakte II facility is one of the first two in the world to feature automated quayside operations, automated horizontal transport, and Automated Stacking Cranes.
The terminal’s STS cranes represent a new paradigm where the crane driver performs the fundamentally different role of supervising the automated crane operation from the comfort of a remote control room in an office environment using the ABB crane automation system. There is a great deal of interest in how this will work, both from a labour and a technology perspective.
The terminal also features battery powered zero emission Terex Gottwald Lift AGVs, with a fully automated battery changing station. The automated equipment is supported by an array of process automation systems, including STS crane OCR, all integrated with a new version of Navis N4 TOS.
TOC Europe has announced that delegates to the Container Supply Chain conference in Rotterdam this June will have the chance to register for a tour of the new terminal on 8 June. Places are limited, applications for registration can be made with TOC Events Worldwide at this link:
