Mango Crop Report Alert from the National Mango Board

Mango Market News




Mango volume shipped on week ending 4/25/15 was approximately 4,288,166 boxes. 



Compared to the same week last year, volume shipped was approximately 2,758,574 boxes.

Mexico Mango Crop Information


The Mexican season began at the end of January and will run until September with a projection of approximately 40 million boxes until 6/20/15.



Oaxaca, Chiapas, Michoacán, Nayarit, Sinaloa and Guerrero main varieties until 6/20/15 are Ataulfo (40%), Tommy Atkins (43%), Haden (12%), Kent (4%), Keitt (.01%) and Other (.33%).



EMEX projections for all packinghouses have been posted. North Sinaloa projections are not included.



Volume shipped on week ending 4/25/15

Volume shipped from Mexico was approximately 3,245,181 boxes for a total of 19,593,717 boxes for the season.



Compared to the same week last year, volume shipped from Mexico was approximately 1,972,354 boxes for a total of 15,731,064 boxes in 2014.



Mexico's projections for the next three weeks are approximately 3,184,241 boxes for week ending 5/2/15; 2,386,021 boxes for week ending 5/9/15 and 2,900,638 boxes for week ending 5/16/15.


Average price on week ending 4/18/15

Ataulfo weekly average price per box at the Texas entry port was$5.83 which increased 1% from previous week ending 4/18/15.



Compared to the same week in 2014, Ataulfo weekly average price was $5.40.



Tommy Atkins weekly average price per box at the Texas entry port was $4.34 which decreased 9% from previous week ending 4/18/15.


Compared to the same week in 2014, Tommy Atkins weekly average price was $6.09.


Tommy Atkins weekly average price per box at the Nogales entry port was $4.79 which decreased 1% from previous week ending 4/18/15. 



Compared to the same week in 2014, Tommy Atkins weekly average price was $5.61.


Haden weekly average price per box at the Texas entry port was$4.82 which decreased 2% from previous week ending 4/18/15. 

Compared to the same week in 2014, Haden weekly average price was $5.56.




Guatemala Mango Crop Information

The Guatemala season will begin in March and will run until May with a projection of approximately 4.8 million boxes.



Guatemala's main varieties are Tommy Atkins (94%), Ataulfo (4%) and Kent (1%)
Volume shipped on week ending 4/25/15

Volume shipped from Guatemala was approximately 858,212 boxes for a total of 3,329,846 boxes for the season.



Compared to the same week last year, volume shipped from Guatemala was approximately 760,876 boxes for a total of 3,947 boxes in 2014.

Guatemala's projections for the next three weeks are approximately 775,000 boxes for week ending 5/2/15; 450,000 boxes for week ending 5/9/15 and 250,000 boxes for week ending5/16/15.





Average price on week ending 4/25/15

Tommy Atkins weekly average price per box at the South Florida entry port was $3.98 which decreased 16% from previous week ending 4/18/15. 



Compared to the same week in 2014, Tommy Atkins weekly average price was $5.13.





Haiti Crop Information

The Haitian season began in March and will run until the end of August.



Haiti's main variety is Madame Francis (100%)
Haiti's projections will be posted as soon as ANEM provides them.




Volume shipped on week ending 4/18/15

Volume shipped from Haiti was approximately 184,773 boxes for a total 331,196boxers for the season.



Compared to the same week last year, volume shipped from Haiti was approximately 148,328 boxes for a total of 464,654 boxes in 2014.
