REPUBLICA DOMINICANA : Sequía afecta producción de mangos en el país

SANTO DOMINGO, República Dominicana.- Productores de mangos en Bani, aseguran que la producción de mangos fue perjudicada en gran medida por la sequía que afecta el país.

Más del 50 por ciento de las variedades del producto que se exhibe en la feria del Mango no pudo ser presentada al público.

Solo 50 variedades de las más de 100 que en otras épocas eran presentadas en el evento, se pudieron observar desde el pasado jueves en la apertura.

La actividad movilizó personas de distintos puntos del país que llegaron desde tempranas horas de la mañana a disfrutar de la fruta.

La Feria del Mango se ha convertido en una tradición para los dominicanos, es realizada desde el año 2005 en Bani, por ser considerado este municipio la capital del mango debido a que aquí se producen la mayor cantidad del producto.

Pese a la poca presencia de personas en los primeros tres días de esta feria, los comerciantes aseguraron que este domingo se activó el flujo de visitantes que llegó antes del cierre.

It wasn’t that many centuries ago that China was the absolute economic center of the world.
