by Carlos Vilchez Navamuel • 3 septiembre, 2015 •

U.S. intelligence ships, aircraft, and satellites are closely watching a Russian military vessel in the Atlantic that has been sailing near a U.S. nuclear missile submarine base and underwater transit routes, according to Pentagon officials.

The Russian research ship Yantar has been tracked from the northern Atlantic near Canada since late August as it makes its way south toward Cuba.

Defense officials familiar with reports on the Russian ship say the Yantar is believed to be gathering intelligence on underwater sensors and other equipment used by U.S. nuclear submarines based at Kings Bay, Georgia. The submarines, their transit lanes, and training areas stretch from the coastal base through the Atlantic to Europe.

Intelligence analysts believe the ship, one of Russia’s newest military research vessels commissioned earlier this year, is part of a larger strateg…

NAME GAME : USA IMPORTER ATTEMPTS TO MARKET PALMER MANGOES

IMO NOTE:

Unless Vision Import Group gets the EXCLUSIVE Marketing Rights for the entire Brazil Palmer mango crop, this will be another failed attempt at rebranding a variety of mango. The Scientific world knows this variety as a Palmer mango. To call it by any other name is an attempt to confuse consumers.

This is a repeat of the Cirulli Brothers venture with the "Champagne" mango which is nothing more than a highly graded Ataulfo mango. Once Cirulli Brothers lost their corner on the market, the Ataulfo took over a substantial share of the USA marketplace and now the "Champagne" sham is over.

STRATFOR ANALYSIS : Europe Rethinks the Schengen Agreement

Analysis

SEPTEMBER 2, 2015 | 09:16 GMT

Forecast

Rising immigration and fragile economic recovery in Europe will reduce political support for the Schengen Agreement, which eliminates border controls among member states.

The Schengen Agreement will likely be reformed to make room for countries to tighten their border controls more frequently.
Friction between Schengen members and other countries will remain, as will tension within the bloc itself.

Analysis

When France, West Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg signed the Schengen Agreement in 1985, they envisioned a system in which people and goods could move from one country to another without barriers.

This vision was largely realized: Since its implementation in 1995, the Schengen Agreement eliminated border controls between its signatories and created a common visa policy for 26 countries.

The treaty was a key step in the creation of a federal Europe. By eliminating border controls, member states gave up a basic element of nati…
