ACTIVE EASTERN PACIFIC WILL CONTINUE TO BRING MORE RAIN

For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:








1. Shower and thunderstorm activity associated with an area of low pressure located about 400 miles south-southwest of Acapulco, Mexico, has changed little in organization overnight. 



However, environmental conditions are conducive for development, and a tropical depression is expected to form during the next day or so while the low moves northward at about 5 mph. 

Interests along the southern coast of Mexico should monitor the progress of this system during the next several days.

2. A small low-pressure system is producing a concentrated area of showers and thunderstorms that extend about 200 miles offshore the coasts of Guatemala and El Salvador.

As part of his visit to the United States, Chinese President Xi Jinping will announce today an ambitious plan to curb climate emissions through a cap-and-trade program beginning in 2017, Reuters reports.




The deal builds upon a 2014 agreement brokered between the US and China to curb the two nations’ greenhouse-gas emissions by 2030. Some US officials are hoping the plan will put pressure on other countries to decrease their emissions, as well.




President Xi’s announcement comes ahead of the international climate talks in Paris, in which world leaders will meet to reach a new agreement to offset global climate emissions. 



China is the world’s number-one emitter of carbon dioxide, according to studies done at the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency.

El último informe del 2015 sobre Libertad de Prensa publicado meses atrás, conocido como “La Clasificación Mundial de la Libertad de Prensa de Reporteros sin Fronteras (RSF) permite conocer la situación de 180 países en lo que concierne entre otros al pluralismo y la independencia de los medios de comunicación, la seguridad y el respeto a la libertad de los periodistas”.


Para quienes valoramos la Libertad como un todo en lo Individual y en los Derechos Humanos, nos sentimos muy complacidos aquí en Costa Rica, nuestro país se ubicó entre los primeros 20 lugares con más Libertad de Prensa en el mundo, es bueno recordar que Costa Rica apareció en el 2014 en el puesto 21 y en el nuevo informe se sitúa en el puesto 16. Esperamos algún día estar entre los primeros lugares en Libertad Económica.
