National Mango Board elects new officers for 2016

The National Mango Board elected new officers during its March board meeting in Fort Lauderdale, FL. 

The NMB officers will lead the board and fulfill their duties and responsibilities as dedicated members and in accordance with the Commodity Promotion, Research & Information Act of 1996, and the Mango Order.


The 2016 National Mango Board Officers: Danny Pollak, ex-officio; Chris Ciruli, treasurer; Joella Shiba, vice chair; Greg Golden, chair; and Jorge Perez, secretary.

Greg Golden of Mullica Hill, NJ, will serve as chair, with Joella Shiba of Los Angeles servings as vice chair. Jorge Perez of Sinaloa, Mexico, was elected secretary, and Chris Ciruli of Tubac, AZ, was elected treasurer for a second term. Danny Pollak of Sea Girt, NJ, will serve as ex-officio.

The NMB officers, together with the rest of the board members, will continue to uphold the NMB’s mission to increase consumption of fresh mangos in the United States through innovative research and promotional activities, while fostering a thriving industry.

“Each officer and board member brings a wealth of experience, industry knowledge and new ideas to the NMB,” Manuel Michel, executive director of the NMB, said in a press release. 

“We are confident of the leadership and guidance past officers have provided the board, and look forward to working with the 2016 officers as we continue strengthening and supporting the U.S. mango industry.”
