Mango Market News



Mango volume shipped on week ending 4/16/16 was approximately 2,561,853 boxes.


During the same week last year, volume shipped was approximately 4,577,755 boxes.





Mexico Crop Information


The Mexican season began in January and will run until October with a projection of approximately 62.4 million boxes.
Mexico's main varieties are Tommy Atkins (38%), Ataulfo (26%), Kent (20%), Haden (7%), Keitt (8%) and other (1%).
Please note:Fruit sizes for April and May will be smaller than previous years.

Volume shipped from Mexico was approximately 2,126,505 boxes for a total of11,958,982 boxes for the season.
During the same week last year, volume shipped from Mexico was approximately 3,591,074 boxes for a total of 16,323,048 boxes.





Nicaragua Crop Information

The Nicaraguan season began in February and will run until April with a projection of approximately 900,000 boxes.
Nicaragua's main varieties are Tommy Atkins (89%), Keitt (8%), and Ataulfo (3%).

Volume shipped from Nicaragua was approximately 31,680 boxes for a total of 732,741 boxes for the season.
During the same week last year, volume shipped from Nicaragua was approximately 26,575 boxes for a total of 1,059,327 boxes.





Guatemala Crop Information


The Guatemala season began in February and will run until May with a projection of approximately 4.3 million dollars.
Guatemala's main varieties are Tommy Atkins (94%), Ataulfo (4%), and Kent (1%).

Volume shipped from Guatemala was approximately 403,668 boxes for a total of1,232,927 boxes for the season.
During the same week last year, volume shipped from Guatemala was approximately 873,674 boxes for a total of 2,471,634 boxes.







Haiti Crop Information


The Haitian season will begin in April and run until September with a projection of approximately 2.5 million boxes.
Haiti's main variety is Madame Francis (100%)
